Aachan has been thinking about it. |
So previously, I chose the song "My F*cking Valentine" for the day (I was drunk with C2 btw) to point out some light to humanity and technology's relationship. The song was written and composed by BUCK TICK's main composer, Imai Hisashi. Well, he is kind of notorious for his lyric writing, since they may come out as...primal at times. lol Since I chose a BT song before, I'll follow it with another BT song. So to make a difference, we'll move on to BT's Gothic years. :D
This era is probably the peak of BT's creative direction. This is where love, death, poetry and decadence were celebrated (lol goodbye swear words yay). For perfect choice of songs for the end of Valentines, I chose ROMANCE and PASSION as songs of the day. The songs were written by BT's front man and main lyricist, Atsushi Sakurai. In contrast with his writing to Imai's writing, his lyrics are more poetic and full of romanticism. Yep, let's focus on his writing to keep up with the romantic theme. This would really be perfect for Valentines~
ROMANCE
Still, don't get fooled. This is not an ordinary love song. This song dwells on the love of the damned with a hope for light out of their dark existence. Perhaps, this was one of BT's most visually stunning music videos. Pure Gothic eye candy...really.
In the height of their Gothic years, BT held two full theatrical concerts titled "13th Floor with Moonshine" and "13th Floor with Diana" back in 2005. By now, this concert is quite a legend among fans, since it was no ordinary concert. It presented the story of the King, the Clown and the Ballerina. The backdrop of this whole concert revolves around the three characters: the ballerina falling in love with the dark King much to the clown's displeasure since he is in love with the ballerina. For a clearer understanding, watch the intro (Fun Fact: the king, the ballerina and the clown appeared in the ROMANCE PV):
WHEW! That's two heavy Gothic songs there. So, if you want to have lighter feelings after watching those, check out the songs from Cube Juice (Tensei) and Masami Tsuchiya (Goblin Forest). lol These two are very different from BT songs and they have lighter themes. For Cube Juice's composition, it dwells on life and reincarnation. While, international artist Masami Tsuchiya focused on ephemeral sounds of the forest (reminds me of Varekai). Still, two nice songs to conclude the day of hearts.
