Usagi Drop

This is one of the mangas I've read this week to unwind. I've been eyeing on it since earlier this year. For a Josei manga, it's quite light-hearted. The manga is writen by Unita Yumi and quite popular with plot twists. It's quite popular in Japan and just this year it has released an anime and a live action movie starring Matsuyama Kenichi and Karina's part of the cast (WAH how cool is that, no?).

The summary goes:

Going home for his grandfather’s funeral, thirty-year-old bachelor Daikichi is floored to discover that the old man had an illegitimate child with a younger lover! The rest of his family is equally shocked and embarrassed by this surprise development, and not one of them wants anything to do with the silent little girl, Rin. In a fit of angry spontaneity, Daikichi decides to take her in himself! But will living with this overgrown teenager of man help Rin come out of her shell? And hang on, won’t this turn of events spell doom for Daikichi’s love life?

Laundry (2001)

Synopsis:

The film centers around Teru, a young man who runs a coin laundry, and Mizue, a lonely young woman who longs to be washed anew. Teru bears a scar from a childhood injury that has left him brain damaged; he is pure and innocent in his essence, filled with a simple joy. Mizue is a troubled woman who feels the world lying all to heavy and have caused her to lose her way. LAUNDRY is their story. -Susan Morris  

My Girlfriend is a Cyborg

NOTE:  If you are asking why am I reviewing a movie when I actually said that I'm not into movies. That's because...I'm random. Bear with it. :)

When reading the title, it may sound like a spin-off of the Hong sister's My Girlfriend is a Gumiho Korean drama. No, it's not a spin-off and yes, the theme is of the same kind: romance between a human and a non-human. It's a Japanese movie directed by the same director of the famous Korean movies:  "My Sassy Girl" and "Windstruck".

 

Synopsis: 

One day, a beautiful cyborg girl appears in Jiro's dull university student life who exactly looks like his ideal girl. She was sent to him from the future in order for him to correct some things in his life and to protect him from a great future disaster. As they lived together, he started to have feelings for her, however, she can not feel anything for him, since she is not human.
