Colorful Videos

These are two of the recent videos released this year from Brooke and Ingrid. These videos are my recent favorites, because of their color themes. Yes, they are both modern folk songs. :D

The first video is Brooke Fraser's "Betty". I love the video. Its concept is about one's secret garden where all your secrets hide. The song is about a girl, "Betty", who isolates herself because of her own physical  and emotional scars/birthmarks. The video is very colorful and it has living origami birds...it's cute in simple words. The video is in contrast to the lyrics since Betty tries to hide all the ugliness within her and the video shows a very colorful "secret" garden. Brooke Fraser sings the song by telling Betty that we all have secrets and regrets that we all hide. Brooke continues on by asking Betty when will she tell us who she is. In conclusion, the song talks about human isolation and imperfection that people hide forgetting that surviving all the hardships and learning from mistakes are two of the things that make people imperfectly beautiful.

Oh, it's "Parachute" again~ Wait. It's not the same video, I tell you. It's a new video released last February. I like this video than the first one. It's simple yet it's the nearest coherent video for the song.  Anyway, this video has better cinematography than the first one and Ingrid, is being Ingrid (Penelope Cruz isn't in the set anymore) lol. The video shows Ingrid singing in an apartment (with her lovely geeky eyeglasses) near a window and the video goes on with footages of sceneries that can be seen when you are above a high-rise building. As the video ends, the guy is waiting outside the apartment just below Ingrid's window and Ingrid looks down leaving the audience thinking if she would jump lol. Would he catch her if she falls down? Who knows.
